Plaas stukke in droë gesteriliseerde fles en vul die fles met droë sjerrie.
Verseël die fles. Bewaar in yskas en gebruik dit soos vars gemmer.

Skil gemmerwortel en sny in stukk of rasper
Plaas stukke in droë gesteriliseerde fles en vul die fles met droë sjerrie.

SUSHI GINGER
1/2 lb ginger root
1 tablespoon coarse salt
1 1/4 cups rice-wine-vinegar
3 tablespoon water
1/4 cup sugar
(1-2 drops food colouring)(pink/red)
Peel the ginger and slice in thin slices - Rub the ginger with the coarse salt until jou do nog feel the graininess of the salt - Place ginger in mix bowl refrigerate for several hours - Squeeze out as much liquid as possible - Put ginger in jar - Put vinegar, water, food colouring and sugar in a small sauce pan and bring to a simmer - Stir until sugar is dissolved - Pour over ginger and let cool for few minutes - Seal the jar let "cure" in fridge for 3 days - (add cucumbers and onions for pickled ginger) - geniet
