GREEN MANGO PICKLE
Brenda Litzke
Made with pickle masala from South Africa 🙂
3 Days wait while stirring often, then eat some and bottle the rest. Here’s the recipe I used - I didn't have green chillies so used dried red :
1 kg green mangoes
10 ml salt or to taste
250 ml sunflower oil
45 ml (3 tbs) pickle masala
5 ml mustard powder
6 crushed green chillies
3 sliced green chillies
20 ml crushed garlic
200 ml white vinegar
Wash mangoes and slice in 2cm pieces. Discard pits. Add rest of ingredients and mix well in large container. Let it stand for 3 days and stir often. If you don't use it immediately store in sealed jars for later use. I do quite a bit of research when I use a new recipe and many suggest that you leave the jars in a sunny spot for about 7 days.
